Content Production Manager

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Content Production Manager to join our team at Oxford University Press.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with both digital and print content and products across various sectors, and to contribute to innovative ways of creating, producing, and delivering content.
Key responsibilities include:
- Plan, schedule, and manage Content Production stages of projects, ensuring timely delivery of content or products within the agreed scope and cost.
- Work alongside Content Development colleagues and the wider cross-functional team to manage content through the production process, focusing on quality assurance and adherence to course standards.
- Select, brief, and oversee the work of external editorial freelancers and packagers according to the project requirements, providing feedback when needed.
- Maintain excellent communication within the cross-functional team and with colleagues.
- Identify continuous improvement and innovation opportunities and work with colleagues to implement best practices, new processes, workflows, systems, and lessons learned.
- Identify and implement better and faster ways to create, produce, and deliver content, including automating some stages.
About You
You'll be a collaborative team player with excellent communication skills, experience working on complex projects, and the ability to prioritize a busy workload autonomously.
To be successful, you'll have:
- Production editorial experience, including copy-editing, proofreading, and briefing digital components.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Experience of commissioning and managing external suppliers, including giving clear and actionable feedback.
