About the Role

Housing for Women is a registered charity and independent housing association. We champion female empowerment by providing and promoting affordable homes for women and gender-specific support services.

As a DVA Support Worker, you will play a critical role in empowering women, helping them take control of their lives and develop a stable home environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the proactive delivery of high-quality advocacy and support services to women at our specialist Complex Needs Refuge in Greenwich.
  • Prioritizing the safety of families through risk assessments, safety plans, and individual support plans.
  • Manage a caseload of up to eight families, ensuring a high standard of housing management is in place at the refuge.
  • Support women to reclaim their independence, dignity, and choice based on their needs.

About You

To be considered as a DVA Support Worker, you will need:

  • Experience of delivering support to adults from diverse backgrounds and with mixed abilities and complex needs.
  • Experience of working with vulnerable adults.
  • Experience of undertaking individual assessments.
  • An understanding of Safeguarding principles.
  • An understanding of local and national approaches to tackling domestic abuse, including MARAC, child protection, social, and voluntary services approaches/involvement.
  • Strong crisis management skills.
