Job Description

As an Associate Traffic Director, you will collaborate with the Technical Director of Traffic and Parking and other Associate Directors to deliver business plans and strategies.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing direct reports and leading multiple projects with different clients
  • Working with Associate Directors to achieve professional and financial performance goals
  • Leading a team of senior engineers, engineers, technicians, graduates, and apprentices
  • Preparing brief responses, bids, proposals, and estimates for new work
  • Identifying and agreeing resources for current and new projects
  • Creating Gantt charts using MS Project
  • Providing CDM advice and acting as Principal Designer where practical
  • Contributing to the organic growth of the team
  • Guiding project managers to deliver quality projects
  • Providing technical direction, advice, and support to the team
  • Building relationships with clients and staff across teams
  • Acting as account manager for key clients
  • Recruiting and developing staff to meet customer expectations and business growth plans
  • Developing new service areas such as business case preparation and broader transport policies
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Excellent knowledge of traffic engineering, highways engineering, and/or parking and transportation planning
  • At least 10 years relevant experience
  • Relevant degree or equivalent
  • Experience of successfully managing and delivering projects
  • Professional Membership MICE/MCILT/MIHT is desirable
  • Qualification in project management is desirable
