Drive Fusion Energy Innovation

Join UK Atomic Energy Authority as an Intellectual Property Manager and play a key role in driving the commercialization of fusion energy. With a strong technical background and experience in patent law, you will develop and implement an innovative IP strategy that supports our mission to bring fusion electricity to the grid. Your expertise will also be instrumental in advising teams across the business on IP terms in third-party agreements and reviewing invention disclosures to determine the best protection strategies.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement an innovative IP strategy that supports our mission
- Work with directors and programme leads to identify and protect valuable IP assets
- Advise teams across the business on IP terms in third-party agreements

Requirements:
- Strong technical background with a degree in a scientific or engineering discipline
- Part-qualified or qualified patent attorney (CPA, EPA) or significant experience working in an in-house patent/IP team
- Ability to lead drafting strategy working with inventors and external patent attorneys
- Experience with reviewing and strategically advising on IP terms in contracts
- Experience of IP portfolio management

The salary for this role is £67,023 (inclusive of a Market Premium Payment (MPP)) , and onsite working is expected for 3 days each week.
