Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (SEMH)

Location: Gateshead

Contract Type: Long Term

Leader Education is seeking a dedicated and experienced Higher-Level Teaching Assistant to join our team at a co-education secondary school provision for children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of working with challenging behaviour, with the ability to be consistent and work closely with complex students. The successful candidate will have:

  • A DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one.
  • Patient and understanding approach to working with students with challenging behaviour.
  • Adaptability and a commitment to meeting the diverse needs of students.
  • A good knowledge of EHCPs.
  • The ability to assist in lessons and activities.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships.
  • Understanding of the importance of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • The ability to support students in accessing the curriculum and participating in classroom activities.
