Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) Opportunity

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and passionate Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a dynamic school in Gateshead. As a key member of the education team, you will play a vital role in supporting students' academic and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with teachers to plan and deliver engaging lessons.
  • Lead small group activities and interventions to promote student progress.
  • Provide individualized support to students who require additional help.
  • Supervise whole classes during the teacher's absence, ensuring a smooth learning environment.
  • Contribute to the development of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) to cater to students' diverse needs.
  • Work closely with colleagues to foster a positive and inclusive learning community.
  • Assist with classroom management and behaviour support to create a productive learning space.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) or similar role.
  • A recognized HLTA qualification or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with students and staff.
  • Experience working with students with special educational needs (SEN) is desirable.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A positive attitude and a genuine passion for education.
  • A valid enhanced DBS registration or willingness to apply.
