We are seeking a highly skilled Sous Chef to join our dynamic team at a 4-star inn and restaurant in the heart of North Yorkshire Dales.

About the Role

As a key member of our kitchen team, you will assist the Head Chef in leading our modern kitchen, contributing to menu planning, and implementing new ideas using local and seasonal produce.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, ensuring exceptional food quality, and maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Develop and implement new menu ideas, using local and seasonal produce to create innovative dishes.
  • Supervise junior chefs, providing guidance, support, and training to help them grow in their careers.
  • Maintain accurate records of kitchen budgets, costings, and inventory management.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest allergen, H&S requirements, and due diligence compliance.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • A strong background in classical French cuisine or similar culinary discipline.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience as a senior chef de partie or similar role in a similar establishment.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and lead by example.
  • Excellent knowledge of kitchen safety protocols and procedures.
