About the Role

As a seasoned Human Capital Project Lead, you will play a pivotal role in driving APG's simplification strategy forward. Reporting to the Group Transformation Office, your primary responsibility will be to manage end-to-end projects that align with this strategic objective.

Initially, you will focus on supporting HR transformation projects, acting as an interface between HR project teams, broader APG transformation, and business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead medium-sized HR-related transformation projects, including HR tooling, process change, and governance of HR elements within broader transformation.
  • Build and manage small to medium cross-functional project teams in a matrix environment.
  • Establish projects independently, setting objectives and governance arrangements using consistent group documentation and processes.
  • Create detailed project plans and roadmaps in collaboration with project teams.
  • Identify, document, and manage project risks, issues, and dependencies (internal and external).
  • Ensure successful project delivery, adhering to timelines, quality standards, and budget constraints.
  • Adjust plans according to project circumstances while protecting project goals.
  • Maintain project status reports and communicate effectively to senior stakeholders and the wider business on project health, tailoring updates and styles for stakeholder needs.
  • Resolve competing project demands and conflicts.
  • Support the creation of project business cases.
  • Accurately manage project budgets.
Impact and Contributions
  • You will directly support APG in delivering its post-merger simplification strategy by helping the HR function streamline its tooling and processes.
  • You will utilize your skills and experience to organize a portfolio of HR projects, building required teams and motivation to deliver them successfully.
  • You will ensure that HR projects are executed in collaboration with the broader business and continued alignment with APG's strategic goals.
  • You will mentor and guide less-experienced members of project teams and build on the project governance culture within the HR domain.
  • You will champion a philosophy of continuous improvement across HR Operations in the context of project delivery.

Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
