About Our Role
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Social Worker to join our team at Achieving for Children. As a Social Worker - Safeguarding, you will play a vital role in supporting children and young people who are subject to Child Protection plans and Child in Need plans.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Supporting children and young people who are subject to Child Protection plans and Child in Need plans
- Understanding when to transfer cases from the Safeguarding team to the Permanence team
- Building strong and respectful working relationships with families, their support network, and our partner agencies
- Regular assessment writing, threshold application, home visits, direct work, care planning, chairing meetings, and case recording in line with our policies and procedures
- Ensuring that children and young people are actively involved in our work and their voice is captured in our case recording
- Actively taking part in reflective supervision and group supervision
About You
- An effective communicator
- A resilient worker, able to work effectively in a team or on your own, taking ownership and responsibility for the cases you are assigned
- Confident and competent with relevant statutory and regulatory framework and have knowledge of an appropriate range of professional interventions
- Evidence of championing inclusion and diversity while making a positive difference to the lives of children and young people
- A solution-focused person with the ability to deal with sensitive issues
