Grantham, Lincolnshire, United Kingdom Victim Support Full time
About the Role

The Children and Young Persons Independent Sexual Violence Advisor will provide quality support to children and young people who are victims and survivors of sexual violence. This role involves working with clients who have complex needs and require a high level of care and empathy.

The successful candidate will be responsible for completing comprehensive initial needs and risk assessments, developing and delivering personalized safety and support plans for clients. They will also need to build and maintain effective working relationships with the Police, statutory and voluntary agencies to deliver the best possible outcomes within a multi-agency setting.

This role requires the ability to work effectively with a focus on customer service and care, and to demonstrate resilience and adaptability in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have had lengthy experience of direct service delivery (casework) with people with complex needs, and will have a good understanding of the impact of sexual violence offences on victims and survivors and of safeguarding issues.

The role also requires IT literacy and the ability to use bespoke packages, as well as evidence of excellent recording practice. If the candidate does not possess an ISVA accreditation, Victim Support will fund this learning as it is essential for the role. The role also requires enhanced DBS and police vetting, and due to the location, a driving license and access to a vehicle is considered an essential requirement.

About Us

Victim Support is an independent charity providing a range of specialist services to people who have been affected by crime across England and Wales. We work towards a world where there are fewer victims but who have stronger rights, better support and a real influence in the Criminal Justice System.

Our Vision Ambitions and Values drive our work, and we are committed to recruiting with care and to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. We are passionate about creating an environment where all staff and volunteers feel respected and heard, and we particularly welcome applicants from Black, Asian and minority ethnic communities.

We are a Disability Confident Employer and provide a Guaranteed Interview Scheme for candidates that are disabled and meet all essential criteria for a role.
