Bakery Production Team Leader

Doves Farm Foods Ltd, a leading family-owned food business, is seeking a skilled Bakery Production Team Leader to join its team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the shifts departmental production, ensuring the smooth operation of production and packaging equipment, and allocating and supervising work activities of the department/plant operating team.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Lead the Production shift team, allocating daily work duties as required
  • Manage the receipt of raw materials, ensuring timely delivery and quality control
  • Coordinate production start-ups, shutdowns, and changeovers, minimizing downtime and optimizing production efficiency
  • Oversee quality control during the shift, ensuring products meet specification and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure shift production goals are met, and production targets are achieved
  • Facilitate shift handovers and tier meetings, ensuring seamless communication and knowledge transfer
  • Train and coach operatives on performance matters, promoting a culture of continuous improvement
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area, adhering to Food Safety and Health & Safety requirements using 5S principles
  • Accurately complete all shift paperwork and booking in production to the ERP system
  • Assist in production operations as necessary, providing support to the team and contributing to the overall success of the department
  • Conduct raw material, finished goods, and consumable stocktakes, ensuring accurate inventory management
  • Deputize as and when necessary, demonstrating leadership and adaptability
