Medical Team Lead

The post-holder will oversee a team of Medical Secretaries, influencing and monitoring clinical pathways for patients in line with RTT and Cancer targets. They will support Clinical colleagues in delivering the service, building close working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Main Duties- Follow the Delivering Performance process for their teams, considering training and development requirements.
- Support and develop an effective induction process for new staff.
- Coordinate team leave, ensuring appropriate service cover is maintained using Healthroster.
- Manage and monitor sickness absence, reporting to Human Resources, Payroll, and senior management as necessary.
- Recruit, select, and induct new staff, conducting appraisals while adhering to policies and procedures.
- Ensure effective communication through regular team meetings.
- Monitor the work environment to meet health and safety standards, recommending areas for improvement.
- Manage equipment and supplies within the department, adhering to budgetary guidelines.
- Act as the first point of contact for Consultants and the Trust, dealing effectively and courteously with enquiries from GPs, patients, and other departments.
- Assess and respond to enquiries, acting as a key point of contact for health service employees at all levels.
