Job Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Clinical Leader to join our team at Kings College Hospital. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving and championing gold standard care for Older People.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical, strategic, and professional leadership for Older People nursing, ensuring safe, effective, caring, well-led, and responsive care.
  • Lead well-established, supportive, and collaborative multi-disciplinary teams dedicated to ensuring high-quality care of Older People.
  • Contribute to the strategic direction and leadership for Older People care services Trust-wide, in conjunction with senior medical colleagues.
  • Function as an expert practitioner, delivering high-quality care to patients and families on your caseload.
  • Drive the training, education, and development of nurses and allied health professionals working in the department.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve service quality and patient experience for Older People.
  • Represent the service at local, national, and international meetings to promote the Older Persons care agenda.
Requirements
  • Management qualification or significant senior management experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Masters degree in a relevant field.
  • Evidence of post-registration education at degree level in a relevant specialty.
  • Engaged in or committed to doctoral qualification.
  • Evidence of significant professional and managerial development, including a comprehensive and relevant CPD portfolio.
  • ENB 998/Teaching qualification or equivalent.
  • Counselling qualification.

  • Detailed knowledge of current clinical professional issues relevant to the field.
  • Evidence of driving leading-edge clinical practice, supported by advanced theoretical and practical knowledge.
  • Ability to develop strategic priorities and organize staff and resources to achieve high-quality patient care and delivery of quality targets.
  • Highly advanced planning, organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate clinical and personal credibility to a range of internal and external stakeholders.
