Criticality Safety Engineer Lead

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Criticality Safety Specialist to join our Nuclear & Power Division at AtkinsRéalis. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in designing complex new schemes to protect our clients' assets.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Enhance radiation protection and safety processes and procedures
  • Assist in the production of bids and proposals
  • Implement and contribute to our safety culture
  • Direct multi-disciplinary teams to deliver complex and unique projects

Requirements

  • Science or engineering expertise (physics, chemistry, mechanical, chemical or process engineering, Degree qualified or equivalent)
  • Understanding and experience of utilising industry recognised radiation transport codes such as; MCNP, MONK, SCALE, for k-effective calculations
  • Successful delivery of criticality assessments including development of key associated documentation
  • Experience working as a criticality safety engineer within multi-disciplined project teams
  • Teamwork and Leadership qualities
  • An appreciation of what's required for design, when working in safety critical industries, like Nuclear
  • An appreciation of project and client management
  • An understanding of the fundamental factors which contribute to business success
