Job Title: Senior Commercial Lawyer

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Commercial Lawyer to join our team at the University of Cambridge. As a key member of our commercial, corporate and IP team, you will play a crucial role in providing expert legal advice and guidance to our internal clients.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a strong background in commercial law, with experience in a broad range of areas including export control, data protection, procurement, intellectual property and national security matters. You will be responsible for providing senior and experienced advice to our internal clients, as well as supervising more junior members of staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing internal clients with accessible, clear, pragmatic and robust advice on a wide range of commercial matters
  • Supervising other legal professionals and providing guidance and support as needed
  • Identifying, assessing and managing legal risks, taking into account matters ancillary to one's area of expertise
  • Working independently, managing substantial matters without supervision
  • Delivering training and designing legal resources, guidance and templates for a diverse, non-legal audience
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in commercial law, with experience in a broad range of areas. You will also need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
