We are delighted to be exclusively instructed by a renowned, household-name FinTech client to recruit a talented Commercial Lawyer for their outstanding Legal team. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a highly respected, incredibly profitable brand within a dynamic, cutting-edge, and fast-paced business environment.

The Legal team is celebrated for its collaborative, supportive, and non-hierarchical structure, offering a diverse and engaging range of commercial work. Reporting directly to the Head of Legal, you will also work closely with Senior Legal Counsel and interact with stakeholders at all levels – from juniors in the marketing department to the executive Board.

Work is distributed equitably, based on your expertise, capacity, and areas of interest, rather than seniority. This fair approach ensures a varied workload, fostering both professional growth and job satisfaction.

The team describes their environment as both enjoyable and fast-paced, where strategic decisions are made collectively, and your input is valued from the outset. You'll go beyond contract drafting, potentially negotiating deals and advising on innovative business concepts.

Your role will focus on "Commercial" legal work, with no two days ever being the same.

Types of Work:

  • Negotiating a wide range of fascinating and business-critical deals, either with external legal teams or working alongside internal commercial teams.
  • Drafting, amending, and agreeing on variations to a diverse mix of commercial contracts, including software licences, digital and IT agreements, marketing agency and sponsorship contracts, procurement, and NDAs.
  • Handling matters related to IP, branding, social media, and advertising.
  • Involvement in corporate and intra-group matters.

About You:

These roles are ideally suited to commercially savvy, quick-thinking individuals who thrive in a team-oriented environment. Team fit is crucial; you'll be joining a group that is passionate about the business and the work they do.

Our client is open to candidates from various backgrounds, provided you can demonstrate commercial awareness and the ability to work effectively with business stakeholders. Your legal experience may have been gained in-house or within a law firm, in either commercial or corporate law.

This role would suit lawyers of varying experience who are eager to advance their careers in a vibrant and supportive setting from NQ to a mid-level lawyer.

Package:

  • Salary is competitive dependent on experience, bonus, 25 days holiday (accruing one day a year to a maximum of 30 with the opportunity to buy 5 additional days), salary sacrifice car scheme, private health insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, generous pension contributions.

Hybrid Work / Location:

This flexible and supportive team embraces a hybrid work model, with 10 days in the office per month. The offices are modern, vibrant, and offer ample parking and collaborative spaces. Easily accessible from the Northern Home Counties, parts of East Anglia, and the East Midlands.
