Job Description

**Job Title:** Procurement Legal Counsel

**Job Summary:** We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Legal Counsel to join our team at Wex Europe. As a key member of our procurement team, you will provide legal support and guidance on procurement-related matters, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of procurement agreements, including technology licenses, consulting services, and other contracts.
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including procurement policies.
  • Identify, manage, and escalate issues and risks arising during procurement discussions and negotiations.
  • Provide general in-house support for legal matters concerning procurement and vendor risk management initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain standard templates and playbooks for procurement agreements, and provide guidance on contracting standards, policies, and processes.
  • Develop training materials and conduct training sessions for procurement and vendor risk management teams and other business stakeholders.
  • Present complex issues in a clear and concise manner, and provide succinct results-oriented legal advice to business stakeholders.
  • Work closely with procurement and vendor risk management teams to develop, maintain, and operationalize policies and processes related to vendor assessment, onboarding, risk, and performance monitoring.
  • Manage and resolve specific contractual queries and pre-litigation disputes related to procurement and vendor contracts.
  • Maintain a current understanding of relevant laws, regulations, industry standards, and policy trends related to procurement and technology, including data privacy, IP, trade secrets, artificial intelligence, and data security.

Requirements:

  • Qualified lawyer or practicing solicitor with current practicing certificate.
  • Significant PQE in a well-regarded firm and/or corporation.
  • Experience negotiating technology license agreements, consulting services, and other procurement-related contracts.
  • Ability to project manage and gather business requirements to accomplish complex tasks with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong reviewing and drafting skills, with a commitment to quality through demonstrated accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Ability to build strong internal relationships and act as a legal resource for business and functional leaders globally.
  • Sound judgment, with the ability to clearly make reasoned recommendations and anticipate risk.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and GSuite, with the ability to ramp up quickly on other applications and systems.
