About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Protection Compliance Manager to join our team at Norwich University of the Arts Careers. As a key member of our compliance team, you will be responsible for ensuring that our university's data protection policies and procedures are up-to-date and effective.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day operation of our Data Protection Policy and Freedom of Information policies and procedures.
  • Act as the Data Protection Officer for the University, undertaking the roles and responsibilities of a Data Protection Officer as outlined by the Information Commissioner's Office.
  • Design and implement policies that promote data protection and information security, ensuring that staff, students, and other stakeholders are able to engage with complex legislative requirements.
  • Provide regular reports on compliance to senior management and the University's Board of Governors.
  • Develop and deliver staff training materials and guidance materials to ensure that all staff are aware of their data protection responsibilities.

Requirements:

  • Experience of working with compliance procedures and audit processes.
  • Ability to design and implement policies that promote data protection and information security.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff at all levels.
  • Knowledge of data protection legislation and regulations, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
