We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Project Engineer to join our team in Slough. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for delivering a section of a major pharmaceutical project within your own specialism.

The successful candidate will have an emphasis on technical input and coordination, assisting in the management of a landmark pharmaceutical building. The facility will house a state-of-the-art pharmaceutical facility with amenity areas, consisting of the refurbishment of 5 buildings, including laboratory, office space and amenity areas.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Read, understand and scrutinise Specifications, Programmes & Drawing
  • Design review and validation
  • Assisting with Procurement of Plant and subcontractors
  • Liaising with Project Managers and Project Directors
  • Competent using Microsoft Office software
  • Prepare Contract Documents I.e. Method Statements, Risk Assessments, RFI's, etc.
  • Coordination and management of mechanical subcontractors
  • Instruct and coordinate construction managers
  • Read, understand and scrutinise Sub-Contract instructions
  • Commissioning and testing

The ideal candidate should have:

  • At least a HNC in Mechanical Engineering (or be working towards gaining)
  • Experience running MEP over £5M
  • Major commercial, healthcare or pharmaceutical experience
  • Strong communication skills
  • Be within commuting distance of Slough
  • A willingness to develop their career and to strive towards promotion
  • Familiarity working on large shell & core projects
  • A minimum 5 years' experience in a management role
  • Ideal candidate will have subcontracted to main contractors such as Sir Robert McAlpine, ISg, Wates, Mace and Lend Lease.
