Job Summary:

The Vessel Superintendent will be responsible for the holistic management of assigned offshore assets, ensuring all owned and managed vessels are operated in accordance with budgetary dictates and remain seaworthy according to applicable legislation and in-class standards.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage the onboard team performance through senior officers, aiming for the highest standards of safety, vessel, and crew performance management.
  • Ensure compliance with company IMS policies and procedures.
  • Operate assigned vessels within budget and inform line managers and stakeholders of any expected deviations.
  • Manage vessel port calls, ensuring all scheduled work is completed in a timely manner and a comprehensive report is added to the appropriate port call folder.
  • Monitor the performance of vessel officers and engage with senior ships officers to address poor or unacceptable performance.
  • Liaise with classification, port state, and flag state representatives regarding legislation, scheduled surveys, and one-off surveys/attendances.
  • Provide out-of-hours service as required.
  • Actively promote and progress company HSEQ policies and inter-departmental communications.
  • Assist in emergency response teams as required.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Sea-going chief engineer or equivalent with relevant offshore support experience.
  • Experience in a similar role preferred.
  • Ability to work on own initiative or part of a team, and under pressure.
  • Mature, professional approach to work.
  • Tenacity to work to tight deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Strong professional skills.
