About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to join our expanding Kinship and Special Guardianship Service as a Family Support Worker. In this role, you will be working with a team that are creative and continually adapting to new guidance and practice.
Main Responsibilities:
- Completing assessments of potential Special Guardians
- Supporting transitions, reviewing and assessing support needs
- Providing support to established Special Guardians and the children in their care across the city
Requirements:
You will need to be systemic in your thinking and ideally have experience and knowledge related to Kinship Care and Special Guardianship. You will also need to be skilled in anti-discriminatory and anti-racist practice and confident in having courageous conversations to achieve good outcomes for children.
What We Offer:
At Bristol City Council, we go that extra mile for our people; we offer a work environment which is fast moving and supportive, giving you the chance to use your skills and develop new ones within a high-profile organisation. For the majority of our roles hybrid working arrangements are available, giving teams the opportunity to work in a way that suits them, balancing service need and individual choice - mixing both home and office working.
Why Bristol City Council?
We are committed to promoting permanence by providing services to achieve the best possible outcomes for children and their carers. If you are looking for a new challenge or want to broaden your knowledge and expertise, this is an opportunity to do so in a supportive environment where you'll have the chance to make a difference in the lives of our children and young people.
