Make a Difference in the Global Food System

As a Python developer, you will play a key role in supporting farmers and food companies in reducing their environmental impacts at the global level. This is an exciting opportunity to work on environmental impact assessment models, leveraging your skills in Python to make a real difference.

The role involves writing and maintaining environmental models, supporting other software needs across the Hestia stack, and ensuring code quality through tests, in accordance with good practices. You will work closely with environmental scientists and software developers in a world leading University, collaborating on projects that involve partnerships with international organisations and field trials in countries worldwide.

This is an ~18 months self-employed/freelance consultancy contract initially, with the option for renewal. Estimated salary: $140,000 - $170,000 per year.

Responsibilities:
  • Write and maintain environmental models written in Python.
  • Support other software needs across the Hestia stack in Python.
  • Ensure code quality through tests, in accordance with good practices.
