About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional Child and Adolescent Mental Health Specialist to join our dynamic team at Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust. As a CAMHS Practitioner, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality mental healthcare services to children, young people, and their families.

Main Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized care plans for children and young people with mental health difficulties.
  • Provide evidence-based interventions, including CYP IAPT principles, to support the mental health and well-being of service users.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including community mental health teams, GPs, and emergency services, to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive clinical records, adhering to Trust standards.
  • Work extended hours within a two-shift system, covering seven days a week.
Requirements
  • Registered Mental Health Nurse, CQSW, CSS, or DipSW qualification.
  • Specialist training in Child and Adolescent Mental Health (0-18 years).
  • CYP IAPT Diploma in CBT, SFP, or IPT-A.
  • Registration with a relevant professional body.
  • At least 2 years of post-registration experience in a mental health setting, with some experience in CAMHS.
Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate risk/care plans.
  • Ability to work to standards for quality within the Service.
  • Willingness to develop specialist knowledge of clinical aspects of child and adolescent mental health.
  • Ability to recognize own limits and seek support as necessary.
  • Proficiency in computer skills to input relevant data and type summaries and reports.
  • Ability to analyze risk and respond appropriately.
