Job Overview:

We are recruiting for a Maternity Care Associate to join our team at North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust. This role requires you to provide high-quality care to women and babies on our delivery suite, antenatal and postnatal ward.

You will be working as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide clinical support and undertake personal care duties for women and babies. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a supportive environment and contribute to the delivery of safe and effective maternity care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical support to midwives and undertake personal care duties for women and babies.
  • Assist mothers in feeding their babies and caring for them.
  • Clean beds, trolleys, rooms, and undertake general housekeeping duties.
  • Transfer postnatal women from the delivery suite to the maternity ward as required.
  • Deliver food to women and ensure a high standard of hygiene.
Person Specification:

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will also require a strong attention to detail and the ability to work well under pressure.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • GCSE English and Math or equivalent.
  • National Care Certificate or commitment to complete as part of induction process.
  • NVQ 2 in care or equivalent experience.
