Position Summary

The Neonatal Unit at South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is an integral part of the Northern Neonatal Network, delivering a comprehensive Level 3 neonatal service for critically ill newborns in the Northeast of England and North Yorkshire. This facility is recognized for advanced specialist training in neonatology, endorsed by the RCPCH College Specialty Advisory Committee and Health Education Northeast. Additionally, it houses a certified Fetal Medicine Service, alongside specialized services in Paediatric Ophthalmology, Paediatric Ear Nose and Throat surgery, and Paediatric Anaesthetics. The unit maintains robust collaborations with various perinatal centers both nationally and internationally, fostering a rich environment for research initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

There are outstanding clinical, academic, and research prospects available within the Unit. Each practitioner will be assigned a dedicated clinical and educational supervisor. The unit offers hands-on experience in evaluating and managing all facets of neonatal care, along with opportunities for simulation training and participation in specialized clinics.

About Our Organization

The Neonatal Unit operates within the trust's Community Centre, which oversees pediatric, obstetric, gynecological, and maternity services. Physicians are encouraged to engage in monthly directorate meetings, gaining valuable insights into management and financial planning.

  • GMC registration with a license to practice

Desirable Qualifications

  • MRCPCH or equivalent

Experience with Neonates

  • Experience in neonatal care
  • Completion of core competencies or equivalent training
