About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Respiratory Medicine Consultant to join our dedicated team at South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to both acute and chronic respiratory services within a dynamic and collaborative healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive medical care to patients with a wide range of respiratory conditions, including diagnosis, treatment, and management.
  • Perform advanced diagnostic procedures such as fibre-optic bronchoscopy and lung function testing.
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic patient care.
  • Contribute to the training and development of junior doctors and healthcare professionals.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Requirements

  • Completion of a recognized training program in respiratory and general medicine.
  • Demonstrated expertise in respiratory diagnostics and therapeutics.
  • Proven ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team setting.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teaching skills.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Attendance at international conferences and workshops related to respiratory medicine.
  • Experience in multidisciplinary lung cancer management.
  • Management training and experience.
  • Proficiency in IT systems.
  • Teaching degree or equivalent qualification.
