Credit Controller

Sheridan Maine South is seeking a skilled Credit Controller to join our team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for managing company credit accounts, ensuring timely invoice payments, and assessing credit risk.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and monitor customer credit accounts to ensure timely payments and minimize bad debt.
- Chase overdue payments via phone and email, and reconcile customer accounts to ensure payment accuracy.
- Address and resolve invoice and payment queries, and set and review credit limits according to company policy.
- Allocate incoming payments and maintain accurate financial records, providing regular updates to management on outstanding accounts and potential issues.
- Assess credit risk and manage bad debts, collaborating with internal departments to ensure smooth credit processes.
- Prior credit control experience, covering all aspects of credit control.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with customers.
- Attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Time management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Proficient in accounting software and Excel, with the ability to analyze data and provide insights.
