About the Position

We are seeking a skilled Trading Desk Operations Engineer to join our team at Jane Street. As a key member of our trading desk, you will be responsible for managing the operational side of our trading activities. This includes monitoring trading tools, managing and updating complex spreadsheets, optimizing our existing processes, and developing new tools to support our trading operations.

Our trading desks are at the heart of our collaborative and cooperative office environment, and we believe in a hands-on approach to integrating new hires. You will work closely with experienced team members who are committed to teaching, guiding, and supporting our newest hires. We also offer mentorship and training programs to ensure your success in this role.

We are looking for a critical thinker with a strong quantitative foundation and an interest in expanding their technical skills. You should be an agile and adaptive problem solver, able to balance competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Proactive, reliable, and courteous with strong organizational and communication skills, you should be eager to ask questions, admit mistakes, learn new things, and continuously improve.

We don't expect you to have experience with functional programming, OCaml, or finance for this position; we're happy to hire talented engineers and teach them what they need to know. Fluency in English is required.
