Job Description

As a Senior Legal Counsel in our Home Care Business Unit, you will play a key role in supporting our teams in UK and Ireland. Your primary responsibility will be to provide legal advice on a broad range of matters related to product development, marketing, and sales.

You will work closely with our business partners to identify legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring that our products and brands comply with all relevant laws and regulations.

In addition to your technical expertise, you will also be expected to communicate complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders, providing clear and concise advice that informs business decisions.

Responsibilities
  1. Product Innovation Development: Advise on product claims, packaging, and advertising to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
  2. Marketing and Sales: Provide guidance on marketing and sales strategies to minimize legal risks and maximize brand value.
  3. Compliance: Work with our internal teams to ensure that all commercial agreements are legally compliant and aligned with business objectives.
  4. Litigation Management: Manage product claim litigation, working closely with external counsel as needed to achieve cost-effective solutions.
  5. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with other Unilever lawyers, both in Europe and globally, to share best practices and contribute to cross-country projects.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Solicitor (qualified in the UK, Ireland, or other common-law based jurisdictions) with experience advising on marketing and commercial legal issues.
  • Skills: Ability to analyze complex problems, propose commercial solutions, and communicate effectively with non-legal stakeholders.
  • Experience: FMCG industry, retail, or trade experience ideal, but not necessary.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary package, including an estimated £85,000 - £110,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits and opportunities for career growth and development.
