Job Title: Scientific Lead in Histological Dissection

As a Scientific Lead in Histological Dissection, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation, dissection, and sampling of specimens, working collaboratively with medical staff to deliver high-quality results.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Dissect and sample specimens according to RCPath category A, B, C, and D & E.
  • Work with medical staff to prepare, dissect, and sample category D or E specimens.
  • Deliver histological dissection training to Biomedical Scientist staff, medical staff, and placement students.
  • Participate in the sampling of fresh tissue for research and evaluation of research portfolios.

Requirements:

  • Relevant BSc degree or equivalent.
  • FIBMS (Histopathology) or MSc (in Histopathology discipline or equivalent).
  • Registration with HCPC as Biomedical Scientist.
  • Must hold the IBMS Diploma of Expert Practice in Histological Dissection or have significant relevant experience.
  • Experience in routine Human Resource issues, including engagement, communication, leadership, and management.
