About the Role

Wigan Council has a unique opportunity for a motivated and flexible FAMILY TIME PRACTITIONER to join their busy child-focused children's social care team.

You will be responsible for supervising family time with children who are looked after by the local authority and their birth parents/extended families. Your role will involve supporting the transportation of children to and from their family time sessions, as well as having the skills to deal with challenging behaviour from both children and adults.

We offer a competitive salary of £25-£35 per hour (equivalent to £27,500-£40,000 per annum) depending on experience, plus opportunities for professional development and career progression within the council.

The ideal candidate will hold a relevant essential qualification in social work or a related field and have experience of working with children and families in need of help and support. A full driving license is also required due to the need to travel borough-wide and beyond to fulfil your role.
