About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Librarian to join our team at North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust. As a key member of our library services team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality information and library services to our staff and students.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the delivery of library services, including training and enquiry services, to North Middlesex University Hospital Trust staff and students.
- Develop and deliver training courses, design training materials, and presentations to increase library awareness and train users in search skills.
- Contribute to the development, delivery, and evaluation of current awareness services to keep staff abreast of developments in their fields of interest.
- Support the Knowledge and Library Services Manager in stock selection processes, acquisitions, and cataloguing and classification of stock.
- Responsible for raising requisitions, receipting, and processing invoices and ordering consumables.
- Participate in library marketing activities, including contributing to planning, creating material, and presenting at inductions.
- Monitor IT equipment, identify problems, and rectify them where possible, or refer them to the IT department.
- Assist the Knowledge and Library Services Manager in improving and developing the IT facilities within the library.
- Deputise for the Knowledge and Library Services Manager in their absence, including representing the service at meetings and supervising junior library staff.
Requirements
- Degree or Postgraduate qualification in librarianship or a related discipline.
- Excellent IT skills, including word processing, databases, Outlook, and use of web-based resources.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong time management and organisational skills, and able to manage your own workload.
- Ability to work at speed, methodically and consistently, with accuracy and a high level of attention to detail, unsupervised, with periods of lone working.
