Senior Gameplay Animator Job Description

As a Senior Gameplay Animator at Cloud Imperium Games Limited, you will be a key member of our team responsible for developing and implementing high-quality gameplay animations for our games. Your expertise in gameplay animation will be essential in bringing our game universe to life.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the animation team, designers, and programmers to develop and implement fluid, realistic, and solid-playing actions for players, AI, and creatures in combat and social situations.
  • Work with the animation lead and director to establish quality expectations and guidelines within the game engine.
  • Develop motion capture data and keyframe animation for in-game assets.
  • Create branching animation flowgraphs and designs in collaboration with animation leadership, designers, and programmers.
  • Communicate effectively with teams in the UK, EU, and USA in a collaborative but distributed team environment.
Requirements:
  • Commercial experience in game animation development, ideally on current/next-gen consoles.
  • Ability to break down complex behaviors and gameplay concepts and work collaboratively with designers.
  • Experience with Maya, MotionBuilder, and other equivalent software.
  • Ability to create fluid, smooth, realistic animations with specific demonstration of animation fundamentals.
  • Ability to identify technical and developmental risks and obstacles while creating innovative solutions to overcome them.
  • Ability to mentor junior staff.
  • Eager to challenge your own ideas and those of your peers.
