Gameplay Programmer Lead

We're seeking an experienced Gameplay Programmer Lead to join our team at Cloud Imperium Games. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing gameplay mechanics and systems for our upcoming title, Star Citizen.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement gameplay mechanics and systems, working closely with the game design team to ensure a cohesive and engaging player experience.
  • Lead and mentor a team of programmers, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful delivery of gameplay features.
  • Collaborate with other teams, including art, design, and production, to ensure seamless integration of gameplay elements.
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks, ensuring the stability and performance of the game engine.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest software engineering methods, practices, and technologies, applying this knowledge to improve the game engine and gameplay features.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in programming game features and systems, with a strong understanding of 3D mathematics and C++.
  • Leadership experience, with a track record of mentoring and guiding teams to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate technical risks.
  • Passion for game development and a commitment to delivering high-quality gameplay experiences.
