Job Role

We're seeking a highly skilled Senior/Supervising Social Worker to join our team. As a key member of our fostering service, you'll play a vital role in supporting foster parents and their families to achieve outstanding outcomes for children and young people in foster care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support foster parents and their families to achieve outstanding outcomes for children and young people in foster care.
  • Monitor the continued suitability and competence of Foster parents, ensuring they provide a safe, healthy, nurturing, and learning environment for children/young people.
  • Provide regular supervision to allocated foster parents, ensuring they fully understand the fostering task, competencies to be achieved, and the standards expected.
  • Work in partnership with foster families, other professionals, and the child's network to identify needs and provide support.
  • Ensure each child and foster parent are fully compliant with key documentation and attend meetings as required.
Requirements
  • A Social Work qualification and professional registration with Social Work England or equivalent.
  • Proven ability to produce high-quality report writing and a comprehensive working knowledge of relevant legislation and child safeguarding procedures.
  • The willingness and ability to travel extensively, including occasional nights away, and confidence in transporting children and young people in sometimes stressful/difficult situations.
  • A full driving licence.
