Community Development Officer

We are seeking a skilled Community Development Officer to join our team in Southampton. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in engaging local communities, volunteers, and stakeholders in the prevention of young suicide.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain effective partnerships with local communities, volunteers, and key partners across the region to promote suicide prevention initiatives.
  • Equip stakeholders with the skills and knowledge needed to create sustainable suicide safer communities through tailored support, training, and education.
  • Design and deliver training and awareness-raising products for various groups, including professionals, parents, young people, volunteers, and other trainers.
  • Contribute to the development and review of projects, education, and training products in line with our Strategic Plans.
  • Support campaigns, training, and opportunities outlined in our Regional and Strategic Plans.
  • Monitor and report on data to evaluate our projects and demonstrate impact.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working in a community setting, delivering information and training sessions, leading workshops, or educational activities.
  • A proven track record of networking and building effective relationships, tailoring approaches to meet the needs of diverse audiences.
  • Experience of using initiative and creativity to develop projects, programs, or areas of work.
  • Ability to travel to different locations across Southampton and the South of England to attend meetings, events, and deliver training.
