Job Title: Principal Metrology Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Metrology Engineer to join our Instrumentation Calibration Services (ICS) team at BAE Systems. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the calibration, maintenance, and delivery of test and production equipment on our Barrow site.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead and coach teams to ensure they understand systems and protocols associated with work and tasks.
  2. Analyse problems related to platform and support system issues, generating proposed solutions to improve operation, efficiency, and performance.
  3. Review solutions, including documentation and approved data, and either approve or submit for higher-level authority approval.
  4. Ensure work meets quality, cost, and schedule requirements, completing and reporting status against own and team's workload.
Requirements:
  1. CMI L5/HNC/HND or equivalent experience.
  2. Demonstrated experience in Metrology, Calibration, or related fields.
  3. Experience with apprenticeship standards, developing and coaching new starters.
  4. Ability to apply depth of expertise to resolve complex challenges, issues, and faults associated with installation, commissioning, operation, and performance of systems.
  5. Experience in establishing and maintaining direct contact and interface with customers and management, delivering projects.
