Job Title: Principal Electromagnetic Compatibility Engineer

Location: Barrow-in-Furness. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements to suit your needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage electromagnetic compatibility requirements and acceptance criteria for systems, platforms, and programs
  • Provide expert advice to design teams on electromagnetic compatibility requirements and design considerations
  • Collaborate with EMC test engineers to design and specify testing regimes to prove system compliance against relevant standards
  • Design and implement system mitigation to meet electromagnetic compatibility standards
  • Mentor and coach engineers within the team to enhance their skills and knowledge

Requirements:

  • BEng (Hons)/MEng or equivalent qualification
  • Professional registration at Chartered level or evidence of working towards this
  • Experience of design for electromagnetic compatibility compliance
  • Knowledge of electromagnetic defence standards is an advantage
  • Proven experience and ability to coach others in a team

About the EMC Engineering Team:

As a member of the Electrical Engineering (EMC) team, you will provide support to the Engineering Manager and/or external specialists in providing transversal support to engineering delivery teams in defining electromagnetic requirements and undertaking specialist testing of systems, sub-systems, and components in support of achieving contractual compliance for EMC design.
