Job Title: Principal Electrical C&I Engineer Location: Barrow-In-Furness Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Electrical C&I Engineer to join our team at BAE Systems. As a key member of our Electrical Calibration department, you will be responsible for performing and supervising high-level calibration and repair of electrical test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment (TMDE). Key Responsibilities: * Perform and supervise high-level calibration and repair of TMDE, including resource management and calibration workload signoff * Write, review, and approve calibration procedures and measurement uncertainty budgets * Participate in UKAS (ISO) audits and achieve UKAS signatory status * Deliver on-the-job training and experiential learning to apprentices and lesser-experienced team members * Communicate professionally with technical stakeholders, including consultation on new measurement technologies Requirements: * Extensive experience in a precision Electrical metrology laboratory environment * Understanding of quality systems and standards (ISO 17025/ISO 9001) * Relevant academic qualification (STEM degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent) Desirable: * Existing UKAS signatory status for Electrical Calibration * Experience in creating measurement uncertainty budgets to ISO 17025 level * Experience in using automation software (Fluke Metcal, Met/Track, Met/Teams, Labview) * Experience in Mechanical/Dimensional/Temperature calibrations Benefits: As a Principal Electrical C&I Engineer at BAE Systems, you will receive a competitive salary, enhanced annual leave incentive, and a Company-contributed Share Incentive Plan. About the Team: Our Electrical Calibration department supports 30,000 pieces of equipment per year, ranging from traditional analogue equipment to state-of-the-art digital systems. We focus on the calibration of TMDE capable of making AC/DC voltage, current, resistance, inductance, capacitance, and time & frequency measurements. Our team works in a dedicated laboratory and on-site around the Barrow Submarines Site and Walney Aerodrome.
