About the Role:
GSL Education is seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our team in Kingston upon Thames. As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with social, emotional, and mental health needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group support to students with SEMH needs.
- Assist in the development and implementation of behaviour support plans.
- Promote positive behaviour and social interactions among students.
- Facilitate emotional regulation strategies and interventions.
- Support students during transitions and unstructured times.
- Monitor and track student progress and provide feedback to teachers.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support student development.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children or young people, ideally in an educational or SEMH setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a strong commitment to supporting student development.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Current enhanced DBS or willingness to apply for a new one.
