Children's Community Palliative Nurse Specialist

As a Children's Community Palliative Nurse Specialist, you will work within our small care team to deliver community-based palliative nursing care. You will be working with families caring for children and young people with life-threatening and life-limiting illnesses.
Main Responsibilities- To provide skilled holistic nursing care to children and young people who have complex medical needs within the family home or other environments where respite is requested.
- To provide emotional support and advice to the children, young people, and parent/carers on the caseload, and to be responsible for the planning, implementation, and evaluation of individualised care during each respite visit in the absence of the parents or carers.
- To work with the end-of-life team leader to plan and deliver end-of-life care to children on the Jessie May caseload.
You will also be required to supervise the child or young person in the absence of their parents or carers, communicate effectively with all members of the Jessie May Care Team, promote evidence-based practices, and undertake all appropriate aspects of nursing care required within the home-based setting.
Requirements- RSCN/RN (Child) or equivalent qualification.
- Current NMC registration.
- Able to advocate and empower vulnerable young children and their families.
- Flexible and adaptable to challenging and complex changing environments.
- Car driver and able to work remotely including computer skills.
