R&D Platform Manager

Our client, a leading expert in building ANPR cameras, is seeking a skilled R&D Platform Manager to lead the Hardware Platform team. As a key member of the R&D team, you will be responsible for managing a team of experienced Engineers and working closely with Senior Management, Product and Project Management to define product roadmaps and allocate resources.
About the RoleAs the R&D Platform Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of Engineers in delivering custom hardware platforms in-line with product/customer requirements. You will work closely with the Software, Algorithms/ML and Systems team to ensure overall system delivery. Your expertise in embedded Linux will be essential in managing the platform OS and board support package of the company's Linux distributions.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a team of Engineers in delivering custom hardware platforms
- Work closely with Senior Management, Product and Project Management to define product roadmaps and allocate resources
- Manage the platform OS and board support package of the company's Linux distributions
- Develop and maintain device drivers, boot chain development, and Linux kernel hacking
- Build and develop custom Linux distributions using Yocto
- Develop systems using Buildroot
- Experience with CI/CD and automated testing
- Experience with Atlassian suite of products such as Jira and Confluence
- Strong management and leadership skills
- Experience programming in C/C++ and shell scripting knowledge
- Experience working with Linux kernel device drivers, device trees, and pinmux configurations
- Experience building and developing custom Linux distributions using Yocto
- Experience developing systems using Buildroot
- Experience with CI/CD and automated testing
- Experience with Atlassian suite of products such as Jira and Confluence
