About the Role

Glasgow Caledonian University is seeking a highly skilled Finance Business Partner to join their team. As a key member of the Finance Business Partner Team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring financial sustainability and excellence in planning, management reporting, infrastructure, and investment case appraisals.

The successful candidate will possess a CCAB recognised accountancy qualification and be a member of an appropriate professional institute or association. You will have substantial post-qualification experience with demonstrable expertise in management accounting, planning, and influencing at a senior level.

The ideal candidate will excel in developing and maintaining effective working relationships at all levels within the organisation, demonstrate strong analytical skills to understand the range of issues affecting the university's performance, and plan and prioritise workloads effectively.

We seek someone proactive in service development and committed to improving systems and processes, capable of strategic thinking to achieve organisational goals, and able to command respect and confidence from the Executive Board and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assisting in School and departmental planning.
  2. Providing management accounting support to the senior management.
  3. Producing monthly management accounts.
  4. Shaping strategy and Executive decision making through value-add analysis, investment case support, enhancements to financial management information, and Executive board and committee papers.
