Road Safety Officer

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Road Safety Officer. This is a unique opportunity to make a positive impact in your community by ensuring the safety of children crossing the road at school journey times.
Main Duties:- Stop traffic and operate the crossing for children and adults using the stop sign and wearing the full uniform (hat and coat).
- Carry out council policies, including Health & Safety procedures and reporting of incidents and accidents.
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent time-keeping skills, be reliable, and have the ability to work without supervision. You must also have good eyesight and hearing, with good health and general fitness to work outdoors in all weathers.
Requirements:- Ability to comprehend written and verbal instructions.
- Good understanding of road use and traffic awareness, road safety awareness, and how stopping distance of vehicles changes with speed and road conditions.
- Able to use and handle equipment necessary for this role (lollipop).
- Knowledge of Safeguarding and child protection issues.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with adults and children.
