Financial Controller Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to join our team at Laing O'Rourke's Centre of Excellence for Modern Construction (CEMC) in Steetley, Worksop, Nottinghamshire.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strong financial controls and reporting, analysing business performance, and identifying areas for improvement. They will also be responsible for managing balance sheet accounts, FAR & stock listings, and ensuring reconciliations are undertaken on a monthly basis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reporting Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cashflow performance
  • Submitting budget/forecasts to Group
  • Analysing business performance and providing explanations for variances in budget & forecast
  • Managing balance sheet accounts, FAR & stock listings
  • Identifying and improving finance and business processes
  • Keeping up to date with Accounting Standards and implementing new accounting treatments where necessary
  • Preparing and reviewing supporting schedules for year end audit
Requirements

The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with strong financial and analytical skills, excellent IT skills, and experience using SAP, COINs, Tagetik, and Power BI. They will also have experience working within a large manufacturing company and a record of academic success.
