An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time Assistant Education Mental Health Practitioner to work within our established Mental Health Support Team in Schools, based in the North West region.

The successful candidate will work closely with qualified Education Mental Health Practitioners, Senior Practitioners, CBT therapists and other team members, to support young people with mild to moderate mental health difficulties.

Main Duties of the Job

  • Evidence-Based Intervention">
  • Delivering evidence-based intervention for children and young people in education settings with mild to moderate mental health problems.">
  • Rapid Access to Specialist Services">
  • Helping children and young people within these settings who present with more severe problems to rapidly access more specialist services.">
  • Staff Support and Development">
  • Supporting and facilitating staff in education settings to identify and where appropriate manage issues related to mental health and wellbeing.">
  • Access to Specialist Mental Health Services">
  • Working with and within education environments to afford better access to specialist mental health services.">
  • Whole School Approach">
  • Working with and within education environments to promote a whole school approach to mental health wellbeing.">

Detailed Job Description and Main Responsibilities

">
  • Developing skills in supporting children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties.">
  • Developing and practicing evidence-based skills under supervisory support of working in partnership with children, young people, their families and educators.">
  • Developing and learning the skills required in order to enable children and young people in education, and where appropriate parents/carers to collaborate and coproduce their own agreed plan of care.">
  • Engaging along with more senior staff in the signposting of referrals for children and young people with more complex needs to the relevant service.">
  • Completing all requirements relating to data collection.">
  • Contributing to the development of individual or group clinical materials or training materials and going on to develop further such materials as falls within own degree of competence.">

Person Specification

">
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.">
  • Foundation degree or equivalent experience in a relevant area.">
  • Significant demonstrable experience working with CYP/ Families/ vulnerable groups with mental health needs.">
  • Experience of working in a care setting – or working with vulnerable CYP & families.">
  • Additional training in therapeutic interventions.">
  • Keen to access further training and development opportunities, within children and young people's mental health.">

Salary Information

">

The salary for this role is £30,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience.

">

Location

">

This role is based in the North West region, with travel required to meet the requirements of the post.
