Global Compliance Role

Our division at Goldman Sachs prevents, detects, and mitigates compliance, regulatory, and reputational risk across the firm, helping to strengthen the firm's culture of compliance. Compliance accomplishes this through the firm's enterprise-wide compliance risk management program. As an independent control function and part of the firm's second line of defense, Compliance assesses the firm's compliance, regulatory, and reputational risk; monitors for compliance with new or amended laws, rules, and regulations; designs and implements controls, policies, procedures, and training; conducts independent testing; investigates, surveils, and monitors for compliance risks and breaches; and leads the firm's responses to regulatory examinations, audits, and inquiries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Management of Analyst and Associate team members
  • Coordination of the team's day-to-day reference data and payment screening process, ensuring smooth, prompt, and accurate execution
  • Providing advice on investigations of sanctions alerts that result from the firm's transaction and reference data sanctions screening processes
  • Working with business, operations, and technology divisions to collect information relevant to potential sanctions concerns and provide sanctions-related advice to internal constituencies
  • Conducting enhanced due diligence and related activities to mitigate sanctions risk
  • Ensure metrics, deadlines, and record-keeping obligations established by management are met
  • Assist in the development and enhancement of sanctions-related policies and procedures documents across the firm's lines of business
  • Assist in collation of deliverables for internal/external audit
  • Drafting regulatory reports in relation to sanctioned assets
  • Enhance and deliver sanctions training to Goldman Sachs employees

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple priority projects at once and deliver consistently high-quality results
  • Ability to be a self-starter and to ensure projects are followed through to completion
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, and an aptitude for learning new systems and applications
  • Team-oriented
  • Sanctions-related experience in the financial services industry or relevant government agency/regulator
  • Sanctions-related qualification is desirable
  • Prior experience managing sanctions teams and workflows
