Thor Executive is seeking a Chief Human Resources Officer to lead the National Nuclear Laboratory's (NNL) people strategy. The successful candidate will define the long-term skills and capability requirements for NNL and support the Executive team in interventions to meet these needs.

The ideal candidate will have experience at a senior leadership level in all areas of people management and strong commercial awareness and business acumen. They will lead the Early Careers Strategy within NNL and influence the wider educational sector.

The CHRO will provide the process, expert advice, and coaching support for organizational design and development across NNL. They will also provide career pathways and L&D solutions for personal and professional leadership development for our people.

The successful candidate will ensure our L&D function provides development opportunities across our business to develop our people with the leadership and behavioural skills required now and in the future.

They will also provide the process and expert advice and coaching support on succession planning and talent development to ensure NNL has the pipeline of skills and capabilities it requires.

The CHRO will develop effective relationships with Employees and their representatives, as well as the wider stakeholder community to ensure the Employee voice contributes to the development of our People Strategy, practices, and processes.

They will support the embedding of a performance culture within NNL which inspires people to be at their best every day.

The CHRO will use value-add metrics and data to gain insights into, and monitor the health of the organisation and ensure the success of people priorities.

They will also ensure accurate and timely collection of data to deliver value-add management information.

In partnership with the CFO, they will ensure the successful running of the company's 4 pension schemes, mindful of the interests of NNL, Employees and the pension trustees.

The CHRO will provide Employee mental and physical health and wellbeing support.

They will provide leadership for the financial plans and budgets for the people plan.

The CHRO will provide strategic leadership, management, performance management, and development of the NNL people function.

They will embed Safety and nuclear professionalism in all we do.

The CHRO will review and evaluate the present and future opportunities, threats and risks to NNL.

They will determine NNL's appetite for risk and the robustness of the risk management programmes.

The CHRO will delegate authority to Management and monitor and evaluate through effective performance management and business planning.
