About the Role

This Senior Accountant position is an exciting opportunity to join the Finance Strategy & Operations team at NHS England. As a key member of the team, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of the New Hospital Programme’s strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist financial support to Directors in managing their delegated budgets and improving financial competence across NHP through learning activities and proactive engagement.
  • Present, interpret, and explain complex financial information and concepts in a clear and concise format, tailored for finance and non-finance audiences.
  • Lead the Month-end management accounts process, including related analysis and portfolio management, and ensure resource requirements align to the programme's strategy and milestones.

About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant who can establish themselves quickly in this role. You will have a minimum of AAT qualification or CCAB or international equivalent part qualified, with demonstrable specialist knowledge in a relevant discipline and experience of monitoring budgets and business planning processes.
