About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Cancer Care Coordinator to join our clinical and medical oncology teams at The Christie NHS FT. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to our ACP/CNSs, ensuring the smooth delivery of patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the ACP/CNSs, including booking and outcome telephone clinic appointments, maintaining patient databases, and ordering supplies.
  • Assist the CNSs with the management of the patient pathway, ensuring that appointments have been requested and booked.
  • Organise and prioritise the designated workload to meet the needs of the service, communicating effectively with patients and health and social disciplines.
  • Triage telephone and email enquiries, using a risk assessment framework, and provide general information and support about cancer services.
  • Signpost patients and relatives/carers to appropriate services, such as Maggies and Macmillan, and demonstrate the ability to recognise situations that require rapid response from a healthcare professional.

Requirements

  • GCSE English Language and Mathematics or equivalent qualification.
  • NVQ Level 3/equivalent knowledge and experience.
  • Experience working within the oncology setting, providing administrative support, and face-to-face/telephone contact with patients.
